The short version
Practice mode works entirely on your device. The only information that leaves your phone is what's needed for Challenges and leaderboards: a random ID for this install, the nickname you choose, and your test answers and times. No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
What stays on your device
Your practice stats (positions counted, accuracy, times), settings (board theme, language, learning aids) and practice reminder time are stored only on your device. Practice reminders are local notifications scheduled by your phone; nothing is sent to a server.
Challenges and leaderboards
When you use the Daily Challenge or a friend test, the app sends to our server (pipschallenge.chouetty.com, hosted on Cloudflare):
- A random install ID created by the app. It is not your device's advertising identifier and isn't linked to your name, email or Apple ID. It's used to give each install one attempt per test.
- The nickname you choose. It's shown publicly on that test's leaderboard. Don't use your real name if you'd rather not.
- Your answers and times for each position in the test, used to calculate your score and rank.
This data is used only to run tests and leaderboards. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to track you across other apps or websites.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising or ad networks.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No location, contacts, photos or other personal data.
Data deletion
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To remove your nickname and results from our leaderboards, email us and include your nickname and the test codes you played.
Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children. Leaderboards show only the nickname chosen in the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
